E-Commerce Home Furnishings
Winston HPL is a one-stop family business, which since 1992 has been importing and distributing home furnishing items from door knobs to HPL sheets to be later installed on tables and cabinets. As of 2022, the company has sold over 12,000 HPL sheets.
Despite using a third-party ecommerce platform such as Tokopedia, Uncle Stanley receives a number of complaints from customers that they cannot preview Uncle Stanley's products into their interiors design projects. Secondly, Winston HPL's existing website has become irrelevant, slow and outdated from what it has become. This project aim is to integrate both an ecommerce and catalogue into the new website so customers can preview and shop once they are satisfied with their selected product.

Uncle Stanley outsourced almost all of the web development responsibilities to me as I have prior experience with developing websites. Uncle Stanley gave me a generous timeframe to communicate from the early design iteration to the final outcome that you can see today. Although, the last few months is pretty tedious as me and the media team have been adding up all the 1000+ items into their CMS Library.
Because this is a one-stop furnishing store that sells a variety of items, I have to take a few weeks to learn and rearrange these items into sub-sections in the navigation bar. Secondly I have to ensure that the website itself has to be engaging and easy for anyone to use. Hence, having a CTA button on the hero section is necessary and having the design layout to be fully responsive between mobile devices.
Working with my uncle and getting to know how he runs his business since 1992 is very awe-inspiring and motivates me to be better at both my craft and my own future plans.
